Many police officers in Bogota have a K-9 partner. This not only allows these dogs to be looked after, but provides a great service to the city using their sniffing capabilities. We have seen most breeds being used throughout the city. In spite of the population in Bogota, there are very few stray animals. Most are being cared for by private owners or are being used as working dogs for guarding homes and businesses and of course, the K-9 task force.
The officer allowed his K-9 companion to pose for our photograph complete with police cap.
